The Palmetto Pipes & Drums
Chanter Class & Pipe Band Rehearsals
Anyone interested in learning to play the Highland Bagpipes is welcome
to attend our Band’s
lessons and rehearsals on Monday evenings at Forest Lake Presbyterian
Church. We are a
"teaching band." This means that members of the Palmetto
Pipes and Drums will help you learn
to play, hoping that you will stick with it, learn to play well, and in
turn join the band and make
your own contribution to the life of the band. The little bit of money
we ask for tuition goes into the
bands account to buy music, chanters, reeds and uniform items.
Schedule

5:30-6:30 Chanter Class, for beginners through intermediate students
6:30-6:45 Business Meeting
6:45-7:15 Beginning Bagpipe Ensemble

Location
Forest Lake Presbyterian Church
6500 North Trenholm Road, Columbia, SC 29206
(803) 787-5629
The church is on Trenholm Rd. (in Forest Acres, on the east side of the
metropolitan area), at the
corner of Trenholm and Rockbridge Roads. People coming from Irmo/Chapin/Aiken
usually take
I-20 to Two Notch Rd., and get on Trenholm near Columbia Mall. Those
coming from downtown
will follow Gervais to where it turns right into Trenholm. From
I-77-North, take the Decker Bvd.
Exit. If you’re on I-77-South, you’ll have to take the Percival
Road exit (because there is no exit
at Decker, southbound).
The church is as the corner of North Trenholm and Rockbridge Roads.
There is a red light at that
intersection, and it’s the only red light between Trenholm Plaza and
Decker Blvd.-about half-way.
It is NOT the humongous Baptist church across the street. Call me or
one of the others if you’d
like directions.
